This is Allison.  I met her today at Sea  Turtle Inc. She is a hurt  Green Sea Turtle who only has one flipper.  A shark ate the other three.  She has a device that helps her swim. I also met a lady who let me feed lettuce to a turtle named Mary Christmas.  She is staying there because she is not using one of her flippers. I had a great time at Sea Turtle Inc.  I am so glad we went.

The Kemp's Ridley is the smallest of the eight species of Sea Turtles.  The hatchlings  of this species are a solid grey black color.   The preferred habitat for the Kemp's is shallow coastal areas,bays and lagoons. You can find these turtles from Galveston, TX all the way to Tamulipas, Mexico.  When these turtles are born you can hold them in your hand.  Sea Turtle Inc. in South Padre, TX is helping these sea turtles so they will not become extinct.

I can't wait to go and visit the Sea Turtle Hospital in South Padre!
