This is my first blog for this summer. I will write about Sea Turtles this Summer.Sea Turtles have 60 bones.  They are cold blooded and they are reptiles.  They can live for 80 years.

My Learning for Today

Dictated to my Mom: 

Today I learned about satellites and how they help us predict hurricanes.  I was very interested in it.  My Mom showed me a satellite named Google Earth.  We were very interested in it, we looked at our house.

Tomorrow we will make a map so that I can show where hurricanes will be going.  It is part of my lesson on hurricanes. 

My Learning for Today

Dictated to my Mom:

I learned about hurricanes can be very dangerous storms.  They have lots of rains inside of them.  Hurricanes can cause flooding.  The news tells us when a hurricane is coming.  People have special technology to help them find out what weather is coming.  They learned this by going to school to learn about the weather.  Now we have computers, television, and phones to help us stay safe when the bad weather happens. 

Right now there is a tropical storm named Debbie that is bringing lots of rain to Florida. We watched the news weather cast to find out how much rain Debbie is giving. 

Day 1 of Project

I learned about hurricanes and that they form over the ocean.  That they can come on land.  I also learned about the hurricane can destroy most homes and they can destroy most cities that are by the ocean.  Hurricanes can only come when the water in the ocean is warm.  The hurricanes are very, very, very, strong because they have strong wind and strong rain.  Every hurricane has to have an eye.
